We will generally follow Men's ASA Softball rules:
+ Two new game balls, ASA44375, to be provided by home team, along with scorebook
+ Seven inning games
+ Must have 9 players, 10th can be added after game in progress, game officially a forfeit one hour from scheduled start time.
+ Balls hit over the fence at fields 275 feet and over are home runs, under 275 feet are doubles
+ Slow pitch with 6 to 12 foot arc
+ Bases ideally 65' apart, mound 55' from plate
+ Cleats allowed, no metal spikes
+ Start with 1 & 1 count, foul ball for 3rd strike is an out
+ Overthrows from the infield get one base, from the outfield get two bases
+ Infield fly rule in effect
+ Ten fielders, can bat unlimited line-up if choose to
+ Ball stuck in fence or rolls under, one additional base after fielder raises hand
+ No miken ultra bats
+ Must stay on bag until ball crosses plate
+ Home team to contact visiting team week before game to confirm and discuss after-game activity. No obligation on part of home team to host, but inter-team comraderie is strongly encouraged'
+ No Juniors or Explorer players unless you have provided proof of their being insured, no 'must have' female player rules
+ Strike zone is mat and home plate, 4 balls is a walk
+ Catcher to call strikes, base coaches to make call at bag unless agreed upon otherwise beforehand
+ Girls start with same 1-1 count
+ NO bunting
+ Rain date make-up games to be determined by availability of both teams
+ Batter must make it to first base for a pinch runner to come in. NO pinch running from the plate. Pinch runner is to be player who made last out the previous inning
+ Double headers should be considered for teams with no home field (arrange with team that has field) and/or for rain date make ups
